Congratulations Trudy Poole
A happy new year to all our members. We are proudly congratulating our long standing board member Trudy Poole who was honoured as Frankston City, Citizen of the Year for 2022 during a special ceremony held on Australia Day.
Trudy is a dedicated volunteer in the Frankston community. In addition to being secretary of Committee for Greater Frankston, she founded the Rotary Frankston Peninsula 2.0, coordinating the Frankston homeless brekky club initiative and Birth Tree project, which aims to celebrate the arrival of Frankston’s newest citizens.
Her volunteer efforts reach all the way to Cambodia where she runs the Green Gecko project for orphans and disadvantage families to access health care, higher education and accommodation, helping young people off the streets and providing opportunities to undertake further education in professional healthcare.
Trudy stated “I am humbled to receive the award, which I accept on behalf of all volunteers who put so much time and effort into our Frankston community to make it a wonderful place to live – I get pleasure from making a difference to people’s lives. It’s infectious. I would like to thank my husband, Russell. We are a team and he has provided major support for my volunteering efforts over the years.”
Frankston’s other esteemed honours recipients include Senior Citizen of the Year Erminio Rossetto of the Kananook Creek Association and Frankston High School student Bethany Young was named 2022 young citizen of the year for her work in advocating for social inclusion and diversity.
The C4GF board sends Trudy our warmest congratulations on your outstanding achievement and thanks for your tireless commitment and dedication to our organisation and Frankston”.
